Toll House Copycat Famous Fudge


1 ½ cups granulated sugar

⅔ cup evaporated milk

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips

2 cups miniature marshmallows

½ cup chopped pecans (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon salt


Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt. Stir over medium heat until well mixed and sugar dissolves.

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Then reduce heat and simmer for 4-5 minutes, still stirring.

Remove from heat. Mix in marshmallows, chocolate chips, pecans (if using), and vanilla extract.

Stir vigorously until marshmallows melt to your preference.

Pour into the prepared baking dish. Optionally, garnish with more marshmallows or pecans.

Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.
